Hi-God People / Zond - Split LP

The Hi-God People side was recorded around the same time as their recent split 12" with New Zealanders the Dead C.
It has live snippets from their show at the Palace whilst supporting Sonic Youth and recordings from a radio 3CR session.
Their live shows vary from cosmic rock jams to evolution performance art epics. Pop stars doing the tango with some psychedelic monk.

On the flip side is Zond! Zond are a rock group from Melbourne, Australia. They are named after a satellite of the USSR.
But Zond are broadcasting dark ecstasy, not from space but from a place far below. They are a Rorschach blot, or a Freudian analysis gone wrong.
Their live shows vary from a screaming psychedelic car crash to ambient metal: all that can be known in advance is the intensity of the performance.
Zond include members of past and present groups: On, Fong, Library Punks, Mum Smokes, Ned & the Meds, The Stabs. This is Zond's first release.

1 - Do a cover of a Beach Boys song from their Surfs Up album.

2 - Make about 2 or 3 songs that are like self portraits but as 'things'. For example 'self portrait as me as the mess on the bench'.
Kind of like stupid field recordings.

3 - ONLY record(1 track at a time on 4 track machine) when the following things occur - You hear the big skip bin in the garage being emptied
OR when the bin in the kitchen is full and needs to be taken out to the big skip bin in the garage OR whenever a mess is identified around the house." - Matthew Hopkins

There has been a flood of brilliant releases by Robert through various labels such as Foxglove, JYRK, 267-lattajjaa,
Celebrate Psi Phenomena, New American Folk Hero, Barl Fire, Important, Outa and now Spanish Magic. Robert records
under his own name, Egghatcher, and Future Ears. This mystery man was the founding member of the Appliances, part of San Francisco’s
first wave of punk bands in 1979 and he is currently a member of Kyrgyz, Beautiful Friend, Infinite Article, Broken Mask, and has
released a duo with Charalambides Tom Carter. Robert Horton is indeed a beautiful friend.

"A meeting of two vastly different yet strangely similar improvisers with the Sydney six piece Castings are paired up with Melbourne duo ii.
Castings can be beautiful and brutal. Distorted and processed instruments (guitars, keyboards, harmonicas), samplers, field recordings,
vocals and drums all combine to create some amazing pieces with live sets a single improvised performance. No two live shows are the same with the band
often adapting their sound and set up to suit the performance space. Their track "No Puppets, No Dice" is just a glimpse of the collective's potential.
ii - two little letters - which kind of look like two people. together, they improvise and sometimes plan their way through fluttering ambience, lumbering strum-outs,
